Marissa and Logan Rodgers: A Love Story Built on Faith and Devotion
Updated: Oct 19
Some love stories begin with a chance meeting, while others are shaped by the miles two people are willing to travel to be together. For Marissa and Logan Rodgers, their relationship has been a journey of patience, commitment, and choosing each other, even when distance made it difficult.

Their story began in 2020 through Logan’s cousin, Gabby. After spending a few months getting to know one another, they officially started dating on September 17. Little did they know just how much time they would spend navigating a long-distance relationship in the years ahead.

Five and a Half Years of Long Distance

Not long after they began dating, Logan moved to Missouri for school, about nine hours away. A year later, Marissa moved to Connecticut to attend college, adding even more miles between them.

Over the years, their relationship grew through long drives, FaceTime calls, and the effort it takes to stay connected when you cannot be together in person as often as you would like. Eventually, Marissa transferred to a school closer to home, bringing the distance down to about seven and a half hours. It was the closest they had been to each other since high school, but they still had plenty of miles to overcome.

For five and a half years, Marissa and Logan continued to deepen their relationship across the distance. Their story is a reminder that love is not just about the time spent side by side. It is also about the commitment to keep showing up, stay connected, and look forward to the life you are building together.

Now, they are ready for a new chapter: finally being in the same place and getting to experience everyday life together without a long drive separating them.

A Proposal Worth Celebrating
Logan proposed to Marissa on April 30, 2025, the day before his college graduation. The proposal took place at a beautiful outdoor chapel, making the moment even more meaningful.

Marissa had been told that they were going to a worship night, so the proposal came as a surprise. This is a memory they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Marissa and Logan: Celebrating with the People They Love

When asked what they are most looking forward to on their wedding day, Marissa and Logan gave a simple answer: seeing all their friends and family.

After spending so much of their relationship apart, having their favorite people gathered in one place made the day especially meaningful. Weddings are more than a celebration of becoming husband and wife. They present opportunity to bring together the people who have been part of your journey to celebrate the beginning of the next season of life.

Their wedding style featured soft pastel colors and green, creating a fresh, romantic look for the celebration. This subtle but refreshing color palette brought a natural touch to the day while allowing the setting and the people gathered there to shine.

Why They Chose The Old Barns at Dry Run Farms

Hosting this wedding was especially meaningful for us. We've personally seen Marissa and Logan grow together, with Marissa being a former high school classmate of our twins, Owen and Olivia. Plus, we are fortunate enough to count Marissa's parents among our friends. Justin coached Marissa and Olivia in basketball in both elementary and middle school. Their family and Logan have been longstanding and integral members of our summer, Sunday, backyard volleyball matches. Marissa and her family are some of the kindest, funniest, most thoughtful people that we know. Seeing our kids grow into adulthood, and now into marriage, simultaneously has been surreal, almost hard to believe.

For us, choosing a wedding venue is about more than finding a beautiful place to get married. It is also about finding people who care about your day, support your plans, and help make the experience special from beginning to end. The personal connection of knowing Marissa and Logan has made their wedding one of our favorites. We were so honored to be a part of their celebration.

Wedding Highlights
Here are some of our favorite moments and elements from the Rodgers' wedding.
As a testament to their faith, Marissa and Logan chose to include communion as part of their ceremony. For Christians, sharing in communion is a reminder of Jesus' sacrifice for us and the forgiveness available through Him. Starting a marriage with communion builds a foundation with Christ at the center.

Marissa and Logan's chocolate lab puppy, Millie, got to be part of the ceremony, serving as the ring bearer. She pulled off her role in style.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed soft serve alongside an ice cream topping bar. This was definitely a high point of the evening.

Two of the most touching moments came with Matt, Marissa's father's, speech and their father/daughter dance. Matt is known for his humor, but his usual humor was paired with a heart-warming reminder to faithers everywhere to cherish the time you have with your daughters. During their dance, guests also watched a compilation of home videos which showed sweet childhood moments. Many misty eyes could be spotted throughout the crowd.

Once it was time to really party, this crowd was one of the most electric that we've seen. With lots of friends from high school, college, and sports teams in attendance, the dance floor was packed the entire night. The lively energy of the guests was perfect for memorable dancing and celebration.

Logan and Marissa ended the party with a sparkler grand exit. Friends and family got to say good night and goodbye to the happy couple on what we hope was one of the best nights of their lives.

Marissa and Logan, thank you for allowing The Old Barns at Dry Run Farms to be part of your story. We are so happy for you both and wish you a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and many wonderful memories together.
