Every love story has its own rhythm, its own song, and its own setting. For Aubrey and Bailey Bauman, their love began with the soundtrack of a campus concert, grew through shared laughter and friendship, and culminates in a wedding celebration as timeless as their bond. As they said “I do” in July 2025 at The Old Barns at Dry Run Farms, we’re honored to share the story of how they met, how Bailey proposed, and what made their rustic sunset wedding one to remember.

How It All Began
Some stories start with a spark, and others start with music. Aubrey and Bailey’s story began with both.
It was their freshman year at the University of Cincinnati, a time filled with new beginnings and the thrill of independence. Both found themselves at a COIN concert, each drawn by their shared love for music and the lively energy of the campus crowd. Little did they know that night would mark the beginning of something far greater than just a fun evening out.

After the concert, they decided to grab ice cream, a casual choice that would end up changing everything. As they chatted over cones, they discovered something serendipitous: they both lived in Daniels Hall, the same freshman dorm. From that day on, they began seeing more of each other around campus, bumping into each other in hallways, sharing laughs, and building the foundation of a friendship that would one day blossom into love.
Bailey even found his way onto Aubrey’s flag football team that year, stepping in as a substitute. It’s funny how the small, seemingly insignificant moments, like a last-minute substitution or a walk back to the dorm, become pivotal memories in a couple’s journey.
The College Years: Losing Touch and Finding Each Other Again
As often happens during the whirlwind of college, life moved quickly. Between classes, new friends, and extracurriculars, Aubrey and Bailey drifted apart. They went from seeing each other frequently to simply moving in their own separate directions.
But fate has a way of bringing the right people back together. By their junior year, mutual friends reconnected them. This time, Bailey wasn’t going to let the opportunity slip away.

Working up the courage, he asked Aubrey out. But as life would have it, Aubrey wasn’t ready, so Bailey got friend-zoned. Looking back, they both laugh about it, but at the time, Bailey accepted it with grace, continuing to show up as a kind and steady presence in Aubrey’s life.
And then came the turning point. After a few months, Aubrey realized something: Bailey wasn’t just a good friend, he was someone she wanted to share more with. He was caring, genuine, and had a way of making her laugh even on the most stressful days. When Bailey asked again, Aubrey said yes.

On March 26, 2023, during their third year of college, they officially started dating. What began as a friendship built on music and ice cream had transformed into a relationship built on trust and love.
Building a Future Together
As their relationship grew, so did their dreams. Aubrey, passionate and dedicated, pursued her studies to become a teacher. Bailey, hardworking and methodical, followed his path in engineering. Together, they balanced school, work, and their relationship, supporting one another in every challenge and celebrating each success.

Both graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2023, leaving with degrees, memories, and the promise of a future together. For them, the campus will always be more than just a place of study, it’s where their story began, where they grew into the people they are today, and where Bailey would eventually propose.
The Proposal
Proposals are often about returning to the roots of a love story, and Bailey knew that better than anyone. He chose the perfect spot to ask Aubrey the biggest question of their lives: the very place on campus where they first met.
In a sweet, full-circle moment, Bailey got down on one knee at the University of Cincinnati, at the exact location where their paths first crossed. The proposal was heartfelt, meaningful, and deeply personal, a reminder that sometimes, the best love stories begin right where you least expect them.

Looking Forward to the Wedding Day
When asked about the moment they most looking forward to on their wedding day, Aubrey and Bailey’s answers reveal just how deeply they cherish one another.
For Aubrey, it was the first look, that intimate, emotional moment where the whirlwind of the day slows down, and the couple sees each other for the first time in their wedding attire. It’s often one of the most emotional parts of the day, filled with joyful tears.

For Bailey, it was simpler but just as meaningful: he’s most excited to see Aubrey smile all day long. Her happiness, her glow, and her presence are what he treasures most.

Choosing The Old Barns at Dry Run Farms
When it came time to select their venue, Aubrey and Bailey wanted something that felt authentic to who they are. They didn’t just want a building, they wanted a place where memories could be made, where rustic charm met modern comfort, and where they could truly savor the weekend with those they loved most. That’s what they found at The Old Barns at Dry Run Farms.

The rustic barn, steeped in history, immediately drew them in. They loved that the space reflected the beauty of a farm setting, but also offered modern amenities like air conditioning, ensuring guests would be comfortable no matter the weather.

Equally important was the full weekend package. Instead of rushing through one of the most important days of their lives, they were able to spread the celebration across an entire weekend. This meant time to decorate, rehearse, enjoy family and friends, and soak in every precious moment. For Aubrey and Bailey, The Old Barns was the perfect backdrop for their rustic sunset wedding.
Their Wedding Theme: Rustic Sunset
Every couple has a vision for their wedding day, and for Aubrey and Bailey, that vision is “Rustic Sunset.”
Rustic, because the barn venue reflects their love of authenticity, warmth, and simplicity. It’s a style that embraces natural beauty, handcrafted details, and the charm of the countryside.
Sunset, because there’s something magical about the colors of dusk, the soft oranges, deep pinks, and glowing golds, that reflect both romance and joy. Together, these elements create an atmosphere that is timeless, elegant, and perfectly them. The bride’s mother knew the assignment and devoted months selecting decor elements and arranging the florals to perfectly reflect the theme.

Their ceremony was breathtaking as the sun played over the fields, casting its warm glow across the farm while they said “I do.”
Words of Advice for Future Couples
When asked to share advice for other couples planning their wedding, Aubrey and Bailey offered wisdom that reflects their own journey:
“Stay present and in the moment, as well as communicate!”
It’s a reminder that weddings, while beautiful and meaningful, can also be overwhelming. Taking the time to slow down, enjoy each step, and communicate openly ensures not just a smooth wedding day, but also a strong marriage.

A Celebration to Remember
As July 2025 approached, Aubrey and Bailey are prepared for the next chapter of their love story. From their first meeting at a concert to late-night ice cream runs, from flag football games to graduation caps, and from a heartfelt campus proposal to planning a rustic sunset wedding, their journey has been filled with laughter, resilience, and love.
Their choice to celebrate at The Old Barns at Dry Run Farms ensured that their wedding reflected everything they value: family, authenticity, comfort, and the beauty of nature. It was a day where smiles lasted from dawn to dusk, where the setting sun ushered in a night of joy, and where two people who started as friends walked hand in hand into their forever.
