Now that Season 10 of Love is Blind has officially dropped, we can share that The Old Barns at Dry Run Farms had the incredible honor of being selected as one of the venues featured in the Columbus, Ohio season!
For months, we’ve been keeping this exciting secret. Filming took place in April of last year, and ever since, we’ve been counting down the days until we could see the footage that was captured. As people who love weddings and love stories—it’s been such a joy to play a small part in this season.
How Love is Blind Works
Love Is Blind is a social experiment filmed for the global audience on Netflix. The premise is simple: can two people fall in love without ever seeing one another?
The show begins with a group of single men and women who enter “the pods," which are private rooms where they can talk to potential partners through a wall, without ever seeing them face-to-face. They date, form connections, and build emotional intimacy based solely on conversation. Physical appearance, body language, and first impressions are removed from the equation.

If a connection grows strong enough, a proposal may follow, still without seeing one another. Only after a proposal do couples finally meet in person for the first time. As with many seasons before, after engagements, most of the couples headed to a romantic retreat for a tropical getaway. Reports suggest that the Season 10 engaged couples went to a luxury resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, for their post-engagement experience before returning home. This location serves as a change-of-pace venue for romantic scenes where couples experience each other in person before going back to everyday life.

From there, the couples return to Ohio, move in, meet each other’s families and friends, and begin planning a wedding, all within a matter of weeks. The experiment culminates at the altar, where each couple must decide whether to say “I do" or walk away.
Love is Blind Comes to Columbus, Ohio
Season 10 brought the experiment to Columbus, Ohio, with other past seasons being filmed in various American cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Seattle, and more. The cast for this season comes from cities across the state, including Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Dayton. Production filmed a significant amount of footage in Columbus during the “real world” phase of the show once couples leave the pods and begin seeing each other in everyday life.

When a Netflix producer contacted us about potentially being involved, we were both excited and curious. When we were contacted through an email on our website, the production team did not share what they were wanting to film, just that it was for a popular dating series. They shared that they were hosting a series of weddings just south of Columbus and were interested in our location to act as a groom's suite. The space would be needed for a week and would need to be private for filming. They look for spaces that are visually interesting, versatile, and capable of accommodating equipment, crew members, and multiple camera angles.
Doing some brief research online, we discovered that Love is Blind had casting in Ohio in 2024. With a strong suspicion that the show was really Love is Blind, of course we had to watch some of the show. After watching the most recent season, which at that time was season 8, the concept of the show intrigued us, and we were excited when The Old Barns at Dry Run Farms was chosen as one of the filming locations for the season.

Our Role in Season 10
Our space was used as the groom and groomsmen getting-ready location. Before heading to the altar, viewers will see the grooms gathered here having heartfelt conversations with their friends and family members as they process the life-changing decision ahead of them. These moments are some of the most powerful in the series.
As wedding venue owners, we know that the hours leading up to the ceremony are filled with emotion. There’s anticipation, excitement, nervousness, reflection, and sometimes even doubt. Being the place where those conversations unfold for a national
television audience is incredibly special. Viewers will see the grooms sharing their thoughts about whether or not they’re ready to say “I do.” They’ll talk through their fears, their hopes, and their expectations for marriage.
We even had the pleasure of briefly meeting one of the grooms during filming. While we can’t spoil anything (you’ll have to watch!), it was a memorable experience to see the process up close.

Transforming Our Space for Television
If you’ve visited our venue before, you know it has a distinctive look, rich with character, original wood from the 1850 barn that is the center of our venue and tons of rustic charm. You’ll absolutely recognize our telltale old barn wood when the episodes air.
However, the production team transformed the space in a way that won't look like what you're used to if you've toured our barns. Rather than using our groom’s room in its standard layout, the set designers created a custom hangout environment in the middle of our main dance floor in front of our towering fireplace. They pulled furniture and decor from our groom’s room, around the venue and even from our overnight barns to design a cohesive space that fit the aesthetic of the show.
Filming requires multiple angles, lighting rigs, and room for both cast and crew to move freely. The open layout of our barn’s main level made it ideal for accommodating the equipment and production needs. It allowed the crew to capture wide shots, intimate close-ups, and everything in between without feeling cramped. Watching the transformation was incredible.
The space still had the warmth and texture of our barn, but it carried the polished feel of a professionally designed television set. We loved the scene they created. We snapped just a couple of behind-the-scenes photos during filming, but like you, we’re waiting for the full high-definition reveal when the episodes air. Seeing our venue through Netflix’s cameras is something we’re eagerly anticipating.

In addition to indoor scenes, keep an eye out for outdoor footage around the property. Some of the “talking-head” interview segments were filmed with our farm as the backdrop.
One of the highlights of the experience was working with the production team. They were incredibly talented, professional, and fun. Filming days are long. There’s constant setup, adjustments, re-shoots, and coordination. It was neat to see how much work goes into creating just moments of television.
When to Watch
Mark your calendars! Episodes featuring our venue will be dropping on February 25th and March 4th. We are so grateful that The Old Barns at Dry Run Farms had the opportunity to be part of Season 10 and can’t wait to watch along with you. We're told that this season is explosive!

Thank you for stopping by our blog! We hope that you will consider hiring a locally owned wedding venue for your big celebration. Locally owned wedding venues provide the best wedding experience. They tend to have little to no turnover, support the local economy, and are part of the community. In an effort to support locally owned wedding venues, we will feature six small business wedding venues in each of our blogs. Find locally owned wedding venues in the wedding venue map.
